Online searches on Google for phrases related to questioning one's gender identity and sexual orientation skyrocketed by 1,300% since 2004, according to a report published by Cultural Currents Institute. The report collected data from Google Trends between January 2004 and May 2020 on five search terms including 'Am I gay', 'Am I lesbian', 'Am I trans', 'How to come out' and 'Nonbinary'.
