Amazon is using artificial intelligence (AI) to weed out fake reviews on its platform. The company's AI solution analyzes reviews for known indicators of fakery before they are published online. Amazon's machine learning models analyze data such as seller ad investments, abuse reports, review history, and more to detect fake or incentivized reviews. The company also uses deep graph neural networks to detect and remove groups of bad actors. Amazon blocked over 200 million suspected fake reviews in 2022 and takes further action, including litigation, against parties involved in fake reviews.
