Google fined $338.7 million in Chromecast patent violation case; company's response to charges and more

A federal jury in Texas has ordered Google to pay $338.7mn in damages for violating Touchstream Technologies' patents. Google's Chromecast and other devices were found to infringe Touchstream's patents, which relate to streaming videos from one screen to another. However, Google has said it will appeal against the verdict and denied infringing Touchstream's intellectual property rights. Additionally, Touchstream has filed similar complaints against Comcast, Charter and Altice, which are still pending.
