A US federal judge has ruled in favor of Microsoft to allow them to proceed with their $68.7 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard. The ruling prevented the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) from securing a preliminary injunction. Xbox head Phil Spencer responded to the verdict by stating that the acquisition is good for the industry and will benefit players. Microsoft will now focus on the UK where the Competition and Markets Authority recommended that the deal be prohibited; they have also made a joint submission to the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
