Chinese company Alibaba has launched two new artificial intelligence (AI) models, Qwen-VL and Qwen-VL-Chat, which can carry out complex conversations and understand images. Qwen-VL can respond to open-ended queries related to different images and generate picture captions, while Qwen-VL-Chat can engage in complex interactions, compare multiple image inputs, answer questions, write stories, create images, and solve mathematical equations. The models are developed on Alibaba's large language model called Tongyi Qianwen. South Korean internet giant Naver has also unveiled its generative AI suite of tools, HyperCLOVA X, and CLOVA X chatbot application to improve web search, online shopping, and navigation services.
