The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has issued an alert to customers warning against fraudulent individuals who are sending phishing links via mass email and WhatsApp to download a fake IRCTC Rail Connect mobile app. An email warning was sent out and a snapshot of the fake mobile app was included. Customers are being advised to only download the app from the Google Play or Apple App store, not from external sources laden with offers and discounts.
