Security firm Tenable has criticised Microsoft for a lack of transparency and negligent security practices. Tenable CEO Amit Yoran wrote an open letter stating that the issue extends to breaches and vulnerabilities, leaving customers at risk. Tenable discovered a problem with Microsoft's Azure product in March that could enable unauthorised access to sensitive data, but claim that the tech giant didn’t fix the issue promptly. Yoran warns that the lack of customer notification could render the shared responsibility model obsolete and puts clients at risk. Microsoft has not yet responded to the letter.
